Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to lead and maintain our AS9100-certified Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures compliance with aerospace and space industry standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of Quality Engineering experience in aerospace or space-related industries and a strong background in quality assurance, supplier management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the AS9100 QMS program, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement quality policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance product reliability and compliance.
- Conduct internal and external audits, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement and quality excellence.
- Manage and analyze quality metrics, risk assessments, and process validation activities.
- Serve as the primary liaison for customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies regarding quality matters.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior quality engineers and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of Quality Engineering experience in the aerospace or space industry.
- Expertise in AS9100, ISO 9001, and regulatory compliance within aerospace and defense.
- Strong knowledge of root cause analysis (RCA), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience with supplier quality management, auditing, and process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in quality tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and APQP.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Lead Auditor certification.
- Experience with space-grade components, high-reliability manufacturing, or government contracts.
- Familiarity with NASA, DoD, and FAA quality standards.
