Job Title: Human Resources Director
Job Location: Hybrid (Garden City) 3-4 times a week onsite
Salary: $135k-$145k + yearly bonus

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Case Manager to join our team and manage all commercial matters. You will have the opportunity to forge new relationships within client organizations and expand out outreach within those organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
-Plan, lead, develop, coordinate and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Administer human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management, including annual performance reviews and succession planning; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Identify and partner with business leadership on staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management. Recruit, interview and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Negotiate agreements with recruiting firms in conjunction with CFO/Finance when needed to supplement recruiting efforts.
- Ownership of employee new hire process; pre-Onboarding and Onboarding through start date.
- Conduct reference checks and process and review background checks for all new employees.
- Manage company's HR and payroll system - currently through Paycor (but open to new perspectives on different HR platforms).
- Liaison with Paycor for any system or other issues experienced by management or by employees.
- Via Paycor: set up new hires, set up and monitor accrual time, taxes, benefits, etc.
- Assist Finance with the processing of payroll by making sure employee timecards looks reasonable and are reviewed and signed off by management and that all time off is properly recorded in Paycor and that all benefit, salary and other info is updated and accurate.
- Manage (where appropriate), attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices, including employee handbook, to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Develop and implement HR departmental budget.
- Facilitate Sexual Harassment training and new hire training activities.
- Serve as primary contact for third party administrators related to HR; manage communication to enroll new hires in benefit plans, and to disenroll terminated employees in benefit plans and COBRA.
- Administer the 401K plan (currently with Fidelity).
- Performs other duties as required.

- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
- Maintain current compliance posters in company offices in NYC and GC (in each suite).
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree a plus.
- At least five years of human resource experience.
- Substantial recruiting experience.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
