We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team, specializing in heavy civil construction projects. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of projects including highways, bridges, utilities, site development, and large infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil construction and a strong understanding of cost control, bid analysis, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
-Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
-Review and interpret design plans and technical documents.
-Collaborate with engineers, architects, and clients to clarify project specifications.
-Identify and assess project risks and opportunities to optimize costs and resources.
-Prepare detailed takeoffs and quantity estimates for civil construction projects.
-Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors to obtain competitive pricing.
-Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and participate in bid reviews.
-Monitor and update project budgets and adjust estimates as needed.
-Stay current on industry trends, materials, and construction methodologies.
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
-5+ years of experience as an estimator in heavy civil construction projects.
-Strong knowledge of estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, etc.).
-In-depth understanding of civil construction processes, methods, and regulations.
-Experience in DOT projects, utilities, site work, and large infrastructure developments.
