Position Overview
The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding payments from clients, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, and providing excellent customer service to maintain positive client relationships. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of the organization and requires strong communication and organization skills.

We are an environmental services company that specializes in lead and asbestos inspection and abatement. We deal heavily with insurance companies, and most of our clients are disaster restoration companies. As a result, it is our preference that our Collections Specialist has prior experience within insurance and/or disaster restoration.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the collections process for outstanding invoices
Communicate with clients to follow up on overdue accounts
Negotiate payment plans and resolve billing discrepancies
Prepare and send out invoices to clients in a timely manner
Maintain detailed records of all collections activities and client communications
Collaborate with the finance team to report on collection status and trends
Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction and retention

Qualifications

Proven experience in collections or a similar role
Strong knowledge of invoicing and billing procedures
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues effectively
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Experience in the Insurance or Disaster Restoration industry is preferred
