Position Overview
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to take the next step in their career. The Supervisor Accountant plays a key leadership role, managing client relationships, overseeing complex engagements, and mentoring junior team members. The position offers a direct path to management and is integral to the firm's growth initiatives and high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex tax returns (corporate, partnership, S-corp, individual, consolidated, and trust)
  • Perform advanced-level tax research and draft technical memos
  • Lead client engagements from planning through delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
  • Manage budgeting, billing, and project timelines while maintaining clear communication with clients
  • Monitor work-in-progress and assist with billing and collections processes
  • Contribute to firm strategy through development of niche service areas or internal initiatives
  • Deliver exceptional client service through proactive communication and tailored tax planning
  • Review IRS, state, and local tax notices and prepare response strategies
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff accountants
  • Lead internal training sessions and contribute to team development
  • Represent the firm in local professional and networking organizations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)
  • CPA certification preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant public accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • In-depth understanding of tax laws and accounting standards
  • Proficient in CCH Axcess (or similar tax software) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects independently
